When you subscribe, we keep your email address so we can send you news a few times a season. You confirm it first with the link in our email; until you do, we keep nothing.

Every letter has a link to unsubscribe. The list is kept by our email service, Brevo, a French company that stores its data in the European Union.

To become a Friend you give us your email address. We use it to confirm your gift, to send you the email with the link that stops a monthly gift, to thank you and to keep you posted as a Friend.

Your name only to show you among the Friends on this site, written as you want it shown — your own, initials or a pseudonym. Tick “Keep me anonymous” or leave it empty, and you are not shown. Write to us and we take it off.

A monthly gift made on this site is handled by Mollie, a payment company in Amsterdam: your bank details go to Mollie and your bank, never to us. If you give by bank transfer instead, we see your name, your account and your reference on the stichting’s bank statement.

We do not ask for your name or email address. The payment is handled by Mollie and your bank, and we see it in Mollie’s records.

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics and measure page speed with Vercel Speed Insights. Neither sets a cookie or collects anything that identifies you.

Your browser remembers a few things on your device: the light or dark theme you chose, the colours of the pages you saw during your visit and, on the Become a Friend page, your personal reference for the visit. If you type your email in the footer and then press Be a Friend, the address is kept in that browser tab so the form opens already filled in. For an hour after you pay, a cookie holds only the number of your payment, so the page can tell you how it went.

Brevo (email), Mollie (payments), Vercel (this website’s hosting) and Sanity (the system we edit the site with, which holds the names of Friends who agreed to be listed). Each of them handles data only to provide its service to us.

The newsletter list: until you unsubscribe. A Friend’s details: as long as you are a Friend, and up to a year after your last gift. Payment records: seven years, as Dutch law requires for the stichting’s accounts.

You may ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted or to receive a copy; you may object to our use of it and withdraw a consent at any time. Write to hello@glassbeadtheatre.com and we answer within a month.

If you think we handle your data wrongly, you may complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
