Elephant in the Room
A musical safari for children and their adults
written by Camille Saint-Saëns, Alexey Kurbatov, Anja Evmenova
On stage: a coffer and a grand piano. Also a violin, a cello and, for some reason, a mop. Three musicians, a janitor and… a lion? A kangaroo? An elephant?
The janitor finds himself at a classical musicians’ rehearsal by chance, and in his hands, the most ordinary objects suddenly come alive: towels cluck, gloves leap like antelopes, and a ventilation hose turns into a trunk. Is it imagination or real magic?
A performance without words — in the language of theatre, music and childhood — is based on Saint-Saëns’s ‘The Carnival of the Animals’, Anja Evmenova’s script and your curiosity. A performance for children and their adults.
